Introduction

I received my bachelor's degree from the Department of Mathematics, Gebze Institute of Technology; two terms of which was spent in Charles University, Prague as part of the Erasmus Programme. After having pursued a career as an English teacher & education consultant for four years in a multinational corporation, I enrolled in the master's degree program in the Department of Bioengineering, Bioinformatics and Systems Biology in the same university.

MSc Project

The purpose of my master's thesis is to build a model biofilm, taking Quorum Sensing mechanisms and metabolic networks as the primary focus. Each cell will be analysed by an FBA yielding the initial condition to a sequential FBA to create a living, continuous environment governed by quorum sensing mechanisms and, consequently, by affected genes along with the respective environmental changes. This academic work aims to study a biofilm of at least one species proliferating on a nutritious surface through mathematical modelling.
